The battle for 3rd place continues; Standings


In our league, with Mark (9-0) and Joel B (15-1) seemingly out of reach, the focus has shifted to the bronze medal as all 4 remaining teams are jockeying for position. Jay added a win to his total, moving to 9-3 with 3 KOs after Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. won a convincing 12-round decision over B-list middleweight John Duddy. Chavez moves to 41-0-1. Jay collects Option A: 1, Option B: 1 and Option C: 15 with the win.

Hurricane Candlebox moves to 9-3


Andre Ward (22-0) cruised to a unanimous decision victory last night over Allan Green (29-2), giving Joel M's Hurricane Candlebox a much-needed quality win. Green was expected to challenge Ward with his power and athleticism, but Ward showed himself to be the stronger man, often pinning Green against the ropes and ripping hooks through his guard. Ward may be the best Super Middleweight in the world. Joel M earns Option A: 1, Option B: 2 and Option C: 15 with the win. Hurricane Candlebox moves into 3rd place.

Calderon wins, extends Mark's unbeaten streak; STANDINGS

Ivan Calderon, king of 108 lb fighters, won a Unanimous Decision over journeyman Jesus Iribe last Saturday to move Mark's Sweet Scientist to 9-0 with 3 KOs. Calderon was dropped in round 2, but did enough to win comfortably on the cards. Calderon earns Option A: 1, Option B: 0.5 and Option C: 14. Joel B needs 3 more wins to surpass Mark in the standings.

Cotto wins by TKO; Andrew gets points

Miguel Cotto of Andrew's Sweet Chin Music, defeated WBA Jr Middleweight Champion Yuri Foreman by 9th round TKO at Yankee Stadium in NY tonight. Cotto boxed well, showing a sharp jab and improved defense. Foreman's strategy of peddling around the ring was rendered impossible after he fell, injuring his knee. The game Foreman continued for about a full round after the injury. Cotto moves to 35-2 with 28 KOs and now has become a 3-division champion. Cotto earns Option A: 2, Option B: 3 and Option C: 18 with the win.

Klitschko wins again; Top League Performers

Vitali Klitschko, of Joel B's Ready to Rumble, moved to 40-2 with 38 KOs last Saturday, knocking out Albert Sosnowski in round 10. The Klitschko brothers continue to rule the division, while they wait for potential fights with David Haye, Alexander Povetkin and Tomasz Adamek. The win moves Joel B's team to 15-1 with 9 KOs. Klitschko earns Option A: 2, Option B: 1.5 and Option C: 18 with the win.
