Death Is Forming Sends Their Thanks to the Judges

Devon Alexander's unanimous decision victory over Andrei Kotelnik was one of those painfully predictable boxing results. The undefeated Alexander, a 23-year-old niceguy from St. Louis was fighting in front of his hometown fans and had HBO jocking him hardcore from start to finish. HBO even decided not to show punchstats until the end just to keep fans from understanding what was going on. Harold Lederman turned in the worst scorecard, 117-111 Alexander, I've ever seen from him. I scored it 116-114 for Kotelnik. The fight was close, I'll admit. Alexander was busier and faster, but he was throwing pitty-pat punches that weren't landing. Kotelnik was driving straight through with jabs, rights and hooks. He landed the better punches, but had to leave to the judges handing the hometown boy the fight followed by Alexander's crowd giving their man an undeserved round of applause for his shoddy performance. Alexander moves to 21-0 and BWhit moves to 9-3, gaining Option A: 1, Option B: 1 and Option C: 15 with the "win."

2 Fights Remain with League Implications:

August 14th BWhit sends Chad Dawson in against Jean Pascal
August 21st Jay sends in Tomasz Adamek against Andrew's Michael Grant

3rd place in the league hinges on these fights. League ends August 22nd.
