The good news for
Hurricane Candlebox was that Juan Manuel Marquez performed as expected and defeated Juan Diaz by Unanimous Decision. The 36-year-old Marquez used his impressive technical skills and combination punching to outduel Diaz, mostly in the center of the ring. Marquez moves to 51-5-1 and wants a 3rd fight with Pacquiao. (Who doesn't want a fight with Pacquiao right now???)
In a middleweight showdown of undefeated rising stars, Dmitry Pirog impressively KO'd Hurricane Candlebox's Daniel Jacobs in the 5th round. One huge right hand from Pirog ended the fight. Jacobs drops to 20-1. Hurricane Candlebox ends the night at 10-4.
